What is BBAT's?
BBAT's stands for Bring Back Art Trades! Art trades are when two artists decide to draw each other's characters (or anything really, characters are just the most common). You draw something and get something back... like gifts!BBAT's is an effort to bring back art trades in the art community. It's a chance to find friends and share art! Let's start enjoying creating art for each other before we think about fame and money.

How to join!
& become a BBAT
1. Find an artist to trade with!
It can be a friend, a mutual (someone you follow who follows you), someone from the BBAT's artist list... anyone who agrees to a trade! Don't be afraid to ask around.Remember the trade should be fair! Only message artists that are at a similar skill level as you. If you get asked to do a trade, only accept the ones you actually want to do. Don't feel guilty for turning down a request!
You can also check the #bbatsopen hashtag on Instagram and Twitter to find people who want to trade!
Remember, we don't match you with a trading partner! You have to be active and find one yourself- the list is just ONE place to find a partner. :)
2: Ask them politely if they want to trade!
Some people have limited time for trades, so please respect that. Be nice in your message, keep it short and sweet, and don't spam or beg! Here is an example message you can use:*Hi, I found you through the BBAT's list and I was wondering if you want and have time for a trade with me? :) *
3. Decide the type of trade!
You can trade simple coloured sketches, busts, full bodies, rendered paintings... anything! As long as both sides draw the same type of trade, you're ok. Remember to take into account how much time it will take and if the commitment is realistic for yourself and your trade partner.
Please, do not post any gore or NSFW content through the #BBATS hashtag! We will not feature any artwork that is explicitly violent or sexual. But you can of course do this privately between you and your trade partner if that's what you want :)
4. Sketch your art!
Start with the sketch and wait for your partner to finish their sketch. When you both have a sketch ready, show them to each other (or show a sneak peek that proves the sketch is ready if you want to keep it a surprise). This way you can make sure your partner also finishes their part before you spend your time on a fruitless art trade! If your partner ghosts you, don't fret, they were probably busy and too anxious to let you know!
5. Find a BBAT's frame and fill it out!
Download one of the rectangle BBAT's frames (one that has a space for your name and your trade partner's name). Put in your art, and fill out your and your partner's names. Try and coordinate your colour scheme with your partner so that your cards match!
6. Post your final artwork at the same time as your partner!
Post your BBAT's art trade online! Remember to tag your partner and #BBATS and/or #bringbackarttrades so that other BBAT's artists can find it. :)
7. Send your trade to us!
The artwork you submit here MUST have a BBAT frame or we can't feature it! We update this site once a month and want to share all your trades! They'll be linked to your social media. You can send in your trade via the button below or wait until we find you through the #BBATS hashtag.
PS: Don't do this challenge for exposure, do it for fun! Hopefully some extra follows and likes will come from it, but your main goals should be to find friends and to learn to create art for others!

We want BBAT's trades to be fair. If a person accepts a trade with you but doesn't finish within a month, let us know so we can try to remedy the situation. We don't want people upset or sad that things didn't work out!

BBAT Frames
Chose a frame to add to your trade!
We find wanted a unique way to make sure your BBAT's posts remain focused on your art! Please add one of these frames to your art trades and fill out the information before you post them to your social medias.
Only art trades with frames will be featured in the BBAT's gallery. You can post your drawing without the frame on social media, of course, but be sure to add an extra image or second post that includes a framed version so people can find your partner and their half of the trade!
